Installation of a MAN B&W 6S50MC-C main engine (215 tonnes), intermediate shaft and intermediate shaft bearing, tail shaft and tail shaft bearing, on a 183 m tanker owned by a Greek shipping company.
The project included in-situ grinding on the base (stern tube boss) of the tail shaft’s bearings, supervision of the in-situ grinding of the tail shaft for acceptable straightness, and supervision of the propeller cone fitting in the tail shaft.
